Jordan, the issue here isn't eBay. You might be the best seller on Earth.
But here, you screwed up! Nobody gives a rip about all of your other dealings. This is about the CRACKED TIRES you LIED to a fellow Sambanista about.
First you said the tires weren't cracked. YOU lied to make the sale. You just admitted that!
But that's OK, because they're only cracked on the back???!!!
I've got some flat tires for sale. Does that mean it's OK for me to sell them as not flat? After all, they're ONLY flat on the BOTTOM. Rolling Eyes

Just a question....

If the tires were in a box, why would the shipping label be on the tires that were IN the box?

I miss something here?

Customs use yellow tape with "Inspected byCanada Customs" stamped all over it. I picture you using duct tape more than I picture them using it. You know legalities and all. They're kinda official when it comes to opening peoples' packages.

Your starting to get on my nerves. Go to the CANADAIN PO and ask them, want to bet $100! I didn't F*&KING use duct tape, alright. It was boxed. GET A CLUE.
Thanks for not ACCEPTING MY REFUND. Cause you know that claim that you filed a yesterday with paypal? They denied it.
So, you don't want the money, and paypal denied your claim. Nothing else I can do here. For all I care, I could actually give two shits if you think I packed the tires that way, I just wish you would grow up. Go to the post office, they will tell you. They must have ripped the box open to go through customs, AND GUESS WHAT YOUR WRONG. They don't use yellow tape, I got plenty of boxes that were opened - from other countries. But thats ok, YOUR ALWAYS RIGHT.. just remember that. Everyone is unique, but your just different.

I'll try a third time.

I'M ACCEPTING YOUR REFUND!!! $100.00 TO MY PAYPAL ACCOUNT.

I'm am not paying to ship these back.

The claim with Paypal was today, not yesterday. I've got that email too if you'd like me to prove you wrong again.

Paypal turned down my request the moment I hit submit because it was not purchased through a listed auction site. I kind of figured that would be the case but it couldn't hurt to try.

You make it sound like the jury deliberated for days, studied the evidence and ruled against me. It happened within 2 seconds of pressing the submit button after choosing "Other" as my auction site.

AND GUESS WHAT YOUR WRONG. They don't use yellow tape

Dude!!! You've got to argue every stupid point. Who do you think receives more boxes inspected by CANADIAN CUSTOMS. You, a resident of the United States, or me a Canadian. Take your time and think about this one. Customs inspects 1 out of every 4 items I receive at my door and I receive between 2-8 packages a week here. All of the boxes and envelopes are covered in that Customs tape. Pisses me off every time I see it.

This isn't the first time that our friend VW Addict has played this part- Here's another one... Where the customer didn't get what they thought they bought, not the same packaging according to VWA, the customer is an idiot, blah, blah, blah.
Read the whole thing. It's very enlightening.

I wish I had read that before I sent him my money.

In fairness, th buyer did say they felt satisfied in the end though.

I've got a feeling my situation isn't going to end up like that.

Why would you? Real Source has to pay the return shipping.

I took pictures of those tires when I sold them. The only "cracks" on the tires are on the back, which I didn't even think f**cking matted since they didn't leak DROP OF AIR and let alone they are on the backside...

How would you know they don't leak unless you ran them on a car?

Cracks anywhere on the sidewall make them trash and dangerous to drive on. Any reputable tire shop would refuse to mount them.

If you are going to make stuff up, at least be consistent.

You need refund to full amount.

Yes, but there's no reason to ship them back, they are trash.

As you might have guessed by his last couple of replies, he has no intentions of refunding my money. I really think, he believes he's done nothing wrong. He feels validated by the fact he offered me "a full refund" but doesn't feel he should burden the expense of sending them back. Although they're not worth the return shipping, he feels I'm trying to con him out of giving me the tires for free if I don't ship them back and he just gives me back my money. He feels the tires have value.

He must obviously need the $70 he kept or he doesn't have it to give back. Either way, as I've said to a couple of people, rolls reversed, I would have refunded the money after the first post just to save face. He's put a price tag of $70 on his self respect, integrity, and the way others perseve him. My dignity is worth a hell of a lot more than 2 cases of beer (Canadian beer that is Very Happy )

If anybody's sitting on the fence on this topic, I'd be more than happy to forward them the one email that contains our entire conversation from beginning to end. It's a good read and it will sway you if you weren't already.

Let's just keep this thread high on the list so others hopefully won't get burnt.

Cheers

I've never taken a picture without the duct tape because they're still taped together in my garage!!

The first pics I sent you via email were close ups of the cracks. Here's one of them. You can see the tape on the side. Check your email. This is the same pic.

If you wait I'll go take a picture with a time stamp. What you see in these pics is what showed up at my door. The address label and postage are still on there.

Here they are again if you missed it the first time.

The problem is in his definition of a "full refund" As I stated in my first post of this thread, he did offer a full refund but wanted the tires back and he wanted me to pay for the return shipping. That's where the problem started.

What was funny actually is that he made that offer then a couple of emails later wrote:
Quote:
Honestly -- I think $20 is more then fair, that 2/3 the price you paid for the tires, and I am not even asking you to send them back.
Heck, I will refund it all if you want, but I want them back.

Keep in mind I paid $70 total with shipping. Wink

So, by his logic I'd only have to pay $50 + disposal fees for garbage tires. Hell, that is a deal.
