i am working on a project vehicle for a customer, it is a fiberglass speedster replica on beetle pan.

we are putting cb performance discs front and rear and i am choosing the master cylinder. in my research i came accross references to using a type 3 master for this type of application. what year t3 had disc brakes?

thanks,

'66 and newer, had disc brakes. Later '72 and on, had bigger calipers and rotors. T-1 late Ghia's had disc brakes too. If you are using a T-1 ball joint pan, the Ghia spndles would be your choice.

A Bug/Ghia master cylinder will bolt right on; a Type 3 will require a little fabbing to fit on a Type 1 pan. Apparently, VW did not want the two to be interchangeable.
