Finally! Got my new 1600DP installed today, and the Beetle actually starts now! (And I only smoked 1 set of points in the process )
This is my 1st VW, and the first time I have ever removed and replaced/rebuilt an engine....I'm a happy camper! Now just gotta get the carb adjusted, timing set, etc. Then to the paint shop and it's back on the road.
Just had to pat myself on the back a little, thanks for listening...

it's always a pat on the back when you can do it yourself and not pay out a bunch of moola....no disrespect to the mechanics that do this for a living....good job _________________ don't worry what other people think,do what you want to,and let them learn from you!!!! |

Congratulations...there's definitely a feeling of accomplishment & satisfaction after driving around in a car that you built the engine for...especially when it lasts...my first engine now has 8 years on it and is still going strong! _________________ <---Air Cooled Search & Rescue Team - STICKERS & T-shirts for sale!
