in dash a/c for how much ? ! ? !

Dudes,

I finally tracked down an in-dash, dealer installed a/c unit for my '84 Vanagon. The guy want $ 1,500 for it plus the two or three hours of labor to remove it from the doner van. I dunno but that sounds a "might" high....what do you dudes think?

if it is working OK then that is not bad.... there is a lot of crap involved in those.. does that include the hoses from front to rear , pump and bracket? you might also need to swap out his/her pulley system..I don't remember wheather the dealer installed unit came with an add-on pulley, or??? If you need help getting it out let me know and Ill come over....

I'll ask if it is a truly "complete" kit. The donor van is outside of the Bay Area so it would be shipped to me.
