| yep. it was funny because at that time, they regularly sold bay window middle seats at that store in the $10-$15 range. i'm guessing this one was only worth $3 since the seam came apart on the end. |

looking at the first page, i thought the mid 61-63 style grab bar carried over into the early 64's? maybe just those with pleated seats? |

Funny, Goodwill needs to get their schtuff together on pricing. I bought a 3 person middle seat for a 62 or so and they charged me $6.00. It was clear back in the 1980's, but I remeber it well because the price is written in magic marker on the original upholstery.
The legs of that seat, however, have been hacksawed off, maybe 2". If anyone has any smashed/ rusted/ partial seat leg bottoms, I'd sure be interested in buying them to weld on and make this seat whole again.
I guess I've just been lucky. I bought my Aug 58 23 window back in the early 80's and neglected to get the middle seat. I found the one at Goodwill a few years later. Just this January I found another in an old scrap metal yard that was getting cleaned out by its new owners. It was the only seat there and possibly the only VW part there.
This all in Waterloo, Iowa. They likely didn't sell 50 type 2's at our dealer here in all the splitty years. And I found 2 of their seats, in obscure places, when I wasn't even really looking? What are the odds of that?
Two things that increased the odds:
1. These often got used as garage/ basement furniture, so end up in weird places, not necessarily or often auto recyclers. and;
2. I KNOW what they look like.
So do you!
My biggest need right now, is for the front seat spring assemblies for the November 1955 single cab. The seats were in the back for at least part of the 44 years it has been off the road. And this is the rust belt.

Thought you split guys would like this. I bought 68 bay and it had a early middle seat just sittin' in it, not bolted in just sittin' there like a little rebate ticket. I listed it in the classified and sold it in one day to a local for $500.00. I think he found what he had been looking for and it was no use to me.

It should have 4 Front Kick Panels ,But No Seat Kick panels,as well as I don't think it should have a Rear Mat Either,but I did put one,or rather mine came with one |

I know it's not "Correct" but who cares, looks better with a Mat in my Opinion when you have those Mint Original Upholstery 6 leg and back seat..it all kind of mesh's together well ...at least in the Walkthrough  |

I didn't think they had seat kick panels, thanks.
They don't have any panelling at all in the rear do they? Just the Cab doors and the 4 at the front right?

As I understand it, and I could be wrong, a Kombi would have the same set-up as panel. Front nose kick panels, front door panels, and two short roof panels that only extend back to the B-pillar. There would be no other interior panels, which makes for a pretty loud ride at highway speeds.

Although he is running a rear floor mat and it looks like someone may have drilled the cargo doors for panels at some point.
I can't blame anyone for running a cargo mat in a Kombi or Panel. Kneel down on a cargo floor without a mat once and you'll want a mat for sure. Rear passengers will certainly appreciate having a floor mat too.

Stanagon is correct.
What I know (could be right/wrong):
Plain panels in the front cab only unless the Kombi had the option for an interior in the rear (M502/503/504/505), then it would have had plain masonite panels in the rear as well.
M13 is supposed to be "Middle and rear seats plus panels in the cargo area" but I'm not conviced this really includes the panels. I think it is seats only.
After a certain year, all Buses have the holes there for the interior panels, they are just tiny holes because screws never got installed into them.
