different strokes for different folks.

some like cal-look, some like resto-custom, some like drag racers, some like stock.

if all the acvws in the world looked exactly the same, it would get pretty f@#%in boring.

Because so much is missing so stock is not an option.

It's their car and they can do what they like.

'cuze customs rule!
I have done the restore thing a few times, got bored, my bug-ghia-bus- looked like everyone else's.
I dig the original lines, and I try to make them flow better. IMO.
stock is cool and it has its place, but customs are what do it for me.
alot of guys don't agree, most of my buddies don't, but I have to do what makes me smile.
some see my custom body work and say " what a waste " , I look at stock cars and say "hand me my torch!"
also think of all the original parts I remove and sell at swapmeets to you'all !
LOL!

i went the way of the rat because i love the kustom kulture, I damn sure cant afford no '32 coupe right now or a '49 merc, vw's are the next best thing as far as mass availablity of parts aswell as how well vw's respond to modifications. I went for a vw even threw noing nothing about them, all because i did a die cast model of a ratrod, then just had to build the real thing because I thought it looked great. those sweet fenders just asking for flames running all the way down them, the hood likewise, the deck lid for pinstriping. My engine is worked over just enough to have a lot of daily driving street fun with, and you can slam them down real nice, keep a little rake to them, some suede black paint, skiny/fat tire combo, super long gear shifter with a big fat shift knob, throw in a stereo and damn, its one hell of a fun car. i regret nothing about turning mine the way of the rat. my last car was a tidy glossy show piece and what a stress it was, always worrying about it, caring for it. with this, i can get in it and drive the hell out of it

It is what we like. Rat Fink, Ed Roth, so on so forth. Personally, I am 22 and have had this car since... err.... since rebuilding it 2 yrs ago. I wanted something different so I went Rat.

i like them because you just don't give a damn about it! Twisted Evil it's actually quite nice not having to worry about scratches, dent's, rust, etc. and you're not afriad to try something different. even while it may be "under construction" you can still drive it! try looking at some of the rides on www.hoodride.com! there might just be something there that'll make you dream!
