Hi Folks,
I recently purchased a mint condition 1985 Westfalia GL 2wd. I am figuring out most of the toys but, I was wondering if anyone could tell me what this one switch/button does? Allow me to describe it: It sits below the hazard lights and looks like a regular dash switch but with a small design of a box with a line through it that goes up and down ? Just want to make sure it is not the self destruct button. LOL If anyone knows I would appreciate it, I have looked in my VW owners manual and westfalia owners manual and this button is referred to additional switch?

Sounds like some type of aftermarket addon my the PO.

Pull off the gauge cover and see where the wires go?

Thanks folks, I think the top switch on the right side is the rear defrost? I think the go in this order from top to bottom: rear defrost, hazard light, and this unknown switch(possibly ejector seat!). Now I don't know if this vehicle could have a defroster and a defogger? Anymore thoughts?

I don't know if this helps, but it is a Canadian bus? I went through all my VW lit. and still only see it referenced as a "additional switch".

Hi Folks,
According to a dealership in Canada, it is a defogger switch, who knew? I never would have guessed.
