I don't know anything about this Bus but I can see the rear wheel has a slot in it because of the light coming through so this makes me think it's on 15" wheels and probably a post-Barndoor Bus.

I also don't see any reflectors down low on the corners, like a Barndoor would have

That's very interesting it is a La Pavoni vehicle. They do have a long tradition on company show cars, too bad that at their website just these (are they Barndoors?) can be found:

Does anyone know of a better resolution capture of this?

wow what an awesome coachbuild bus ( although post 55). Great find, V. ! interesting that the second floor hiroof looks like a barndoor having a roof peak. but most certainly not a real BD roof, since it appears to be shaped an lots narrow on top, also the 'highroof' windshields are not as tall as the real ones. Interestingly enough, it has the Kohlruss trademark Italian aluminium trim strips on the side panels.
While this may not be the most beautiful bus ever, it certainly would be killer to find this today.

ps, judging by the front bumper this is a Wolfsburg bus March55-March56. ( narrow gap BD style pressed bumper).
Who knows. Knowing Kohlruss and their 'we can do it all' policy, this might even have started as a wrecked BD, that they started putting later roof parts and panels on. remember Marks REAL BD Kohlruss coachbuilt also had teh front panel replaced with a later unit with small turn signal housings and wiper indentations.

Yes, the same license plate! But already around below and the roof painted brightly. I think the vehicle was a Pavoni coffee sales vehicle. I also found an Alfa Romeo with a great conversion.

After that incident in late 1950, drastical lowering of barndoor buses got mandatory in Vienna !
No stock height buses were allowed on wet cobblestone anymore...

Interestingly enough, the 'Delikatessen' prototype appears to be very light colored in other shots, like primer, or white or beige. but this shot feels like it is dove blue. wonder if it had been repainted or is just the bad lighting in this particular pic (overcast day).

here it is again. the front bumper seems to be at a very early prototype stage here, with sharp corners. and the paint scheme on the bumper is also reversed.

I was wondering what color it was there too, along with the wheels.

It definitely looks dark like Dove Blue and the front bumper looks like a matching Dove Blue/Silver White too.
The wheels look more like a light color though but different from the bumper color.
