I am hoping that someone might be able to help me identify the engine that came with my car. Best I can tell from the code it is either a "W" 1700cc or the "0" 1500CC. I am confused which numbers I should be looking at. Can anyone shed some light here for me.
TIA

Its the 1500, flip to the next page of the book you took the pic from, and read the sencond paragraph of the "1500" explanation. Probably not a good motor to "build" up but if its not wore out, some bus guys might have a use for it? _________________ Markus |

Sounds like the one. There is a guy who restores type 1's and vans not to far from me. I will pay him a visit and see i he has any interest in it. Thanks
One more question and please forgive my ignorance. Is it likely that the trans is from the van also? From my limited knowledge the van trans is the way to go. Thoughts? _________________ 1993 RX7 pT-67 .81 a/r

That single port motor is ok if you are not wanting to go bigger than say a 1641 and you can always put the dual port heads on with the changing out of 4 head studs.
As for the trans.....It also has case numbers (that would get you the ring&pinion ratio) but without the gear reduction axles it looks like a sedan trans. |
