too bad it wasnt a flip seat, otherwise, it would have been sold. _________________ Sounding like a broken record as to why You should be measuring protein during harvest in order to better your agronomic practices. |

Enkiel - I'm sure there's a lot of issues lurking under the respray....lol.
Dave - There is a '61 SO-34 shell sitting in a yard out west. It's stripped - to include no front seat - but it's a '61 flipseat in the PNW FWIW. It is at Averre's in Long Beach WA. (They have a toll free number on their website). There is a front seat or two for sale currently, might be worth a look. I found one closer to home so I'm passing on this one. _________________

Yeah, some of the rustiest VWs I've seen recently have come from Florida...I'd definitely like to see some close-up rust shots before committing to it...
And I'm holding out for a flipseat as well...is that the latest desirable camper? _________________ <---Air Cooled Search & Rescue Team - STICKERS & T-shirts for sale!

that looks to me like just about the right price for the bus personally...it doesn't look overpriced or anything, but come on...its not like the guys selling a running BD 23 window for a hundred bucks or anything. |

Absolutely not, flip seat busses are pure junk, uncomfortable, crappy, and will make you impotent to boot. Don't buy one you'll regret it. _________________ Sounding like a broken record as to why You should be measuring protein during harvest in order to better your agronomic practices. |

I agree. If you do have to get one, find an incomplete one; it's fun looking for westy parts!! _________________ Your Vanagon sucks, Stop waving at me.

All I want is a solid 61 shell with the flipseat and proper M-code plate.
I don't want any of the interior pieces. _________________ Sounding like a broken record as to why You should be measuring protein during harvest in order to better your agronomic practices. |

My 63 flip seat might be for sale soon, sans both tents and the og safaris I installed though. I found a 60 to fit my collection and won't need the flipper anymore. _________________ Stocking distributor of "The Funky Green Panels"

Dave, there are two seats available currently - one on here and one on eBay (the eBay one is also listed here I think....) The SO34 in WA has the Mcode plate. Save yourself some grief, buy the bus in WA - buy either of the seats - and do some welding.
As for the bus that was the reason for this thread - after some hemming and haw'ing - to include at least two messages I left on the seller's machine and a couple of emails - around 12:30 today I told him "I'll take it". Stepped out of the house to take care of some business this afternoon - returned home to find out that around 6pm, he sold it to some guy in New York state... _________________

$2200, reasonably solid appearence in pix - non-OG paint - slight rear corner damage - interior had icebox but missing the difficult "mobile" bits. had all tables, cabinets, etc. non running - had OG engine case. it was a roller. seemed like a reasonably fair price, sold within 6 hours. (the seller was a weasel....lol) _________________
