I recently took a few days and with some help of a good friends garage and his help put in a newly redone head that I purchased from the samba classifieds with help form randy in Maine finding the deal. I took her out tore her apart and put a new head on. To poor to sand blast I scrubbed the tins with brake cleaner dish detergent and a whole lot of elbow. They were really nice looking after a light sanding. Painted them with some engine paint and put it all back together with some new vacuum tubes, fuel filter, plugs, cap, and rotor.
Turned her over yesterday at like 9:30 to late for the posh magnolia neighborhood I was working in. So today did some adjustments and she was off home in our first drive in almost four months. Man if feels nice to have that big sun roof open in a nice sunny 70degree day.
Here are some pics

Cleaned it up nice! that's one thing paying someone won't get you.
keep working on that van and you'll never have to pay a mechanic again.
You're not afraid of a little work, so you got to find out it really isn't that complicated. Feels pretty good knowing you're the one keeping it going doesn't it. _________________ My Art:

That motor looks incredible!!! How much elbow grease was involved in getting it that clean? Did you paint any parts? Will purple power cleaner get it that immaculate? Way to go!!! I am impressed!! Let me know if I can get my motor that clean without disassembling it. Thanks! _________________ Life is a garden - dig it!
