Now that I have the "Valve Adjustment" sticker from W.W., I'm not sure where to place it. My bug is a late '67 American Beetle, and none of the engine pictures I have in my various books show that sticker.
My gut feeling is that it should go on the engine fan housing. Anyone know where to put it for certain? Thanks Rolling Eyes

On my 1971, it was on the driver's side upper part, but the 1967 could be different.

The sticker goes in the top right corner of the fan shroud. There should be a clip on the shroud that holds the fuse holder for the back up lights. The sticker goes right below it. Does your sticker say .004" or .006"? For 1967 it should say .004 but I've never been able to find one other than the .006.

I got my sticker from Wolfsburg West, and it's set for ".006". From what I've read, VW in later years changed there original specs from .004 to .006, so I guess this is appropriate, if a bit too late for my car. It's better than nothing! Exclamation

Nice '67!

Are you located in Orange County? I'm currently restoring a '67 from hell.

Let me know if you go to any of the local shows!

Restoring a 67 from hell, hey? I just restored my 67 vert that lived in Middletown, NY the first 7 years - it was from hell also. Rust hell, that is. What a nightmare - was ready to call the exorcist!

Yes, upper right on the sticker as I recall.

After 3 years of sleeping - this thread is now awake...

When I look at the picture in the ad above, the valve adjustment sticker looks to be above the clip...can anyone verify whether the sticker goes above or below the clip?

Here's the location on my former Zenith Blue car. You can see it just above the right side fan shroud snorkle. Also, if you look really closely, you can even see the "12 V" stencil on the shroud just above the generator. No proper '67 resto would be complete without the "12 V" stencil Smile . However, as you can see, it didnt come with the sticker on the oil bath. My other '67 doesnt have the sticker on the oil bath either Confused .

Not the best photo but you can see it on the right side behind the fan shroud:

The picture Volks67beetle posted is correct. Also, the decal on the air cleaner is also shown in that picture. Wink

Can always count on my comrades... Very Happy The PO had the valve adjustment sticker on the left side of the shroud...and the tire inflation pressure sticker on the inside of the glove box door...

Since you've mentioned the 12V stencil Kent, wouldnt that have been around or over where the coil is mounted?

I've got my waterslide decal from WW to replace the "sticky" sticker thats on my airbath filter...

I think that'll do it...thanks as always...

Both of my 67's have the tire pressure sticker by the neck of the gas tank. If you find the correct 12 volt sticker for the coil please share your source with us. There also is a stencel on the left side of the engine shroud as pictured below with the M code for the backup lights. Wink
