I've all the bits nearly gathered.
I'm working with a stock '66 Beam. LHD.
Porsche parts are from a pre '86 Non Turbo 944.
And I'm undecided where to buy my adaptor kit from.
There's TransporterHaus, T2d, KieftnKlok, Vdubengineering. OldSpeed. etc.
Any ideas the which is the best of the above bunch. Or any others. ?
Bear in mind. I'm in Ireland. So shipping from USA/Canada can be an issue with customs fees etc.
Maybe the process is fairly straightforward. As I have the later beam as such. Am I right.?
I'm hoping to fit the servo too if I can.
(My bus is diesel engined, so vacuum sorted)
If I can't. No worries.
Thanks In Advance.

I am in USA and shipped my 944 hubs to VDubEngineering in Canada.
When I discussed it with Lanner he told me to put "parts for service" or something like that on the box when I shipped them to him to avoid import/export fees.
That might help in your situation as well.
Cool diesel conversion you got there. _________________ Where's Garry |

I just finished installing 944 na brakes on my dd panel. Got my parts from Vdubengineering. Very high quality. The e-brake adapter is sweet. Also installed Porsche master cylinder and bought the required spacer here on the Samba. Once you have all the parts installation is straight forward. |

I have the OldSpeed kit and I love it. Greatest thing I have done for my bus. Russ produces very nice stuff.

Lanner at Vdubengineering did the all around compete 4wheel disk setup on my '65 bus.
Challenge was: 4wheel disks, Porsche Boxster calipers, all behind real early heart Fuchs.
No problem the man says, and the kit went together like butter. _________________ '72 super

I'm in the process of installing NA 944 front disc brakes on my 67'bus and have a couple of questions.
I already have the 67 only dual mc. Is this adequate or do I need to convert to a baywindow or Porsche 944 mc?
I read somewhere that baywindow front brake lines are longer and that I would need the extra lenght. What years front brake lines?
Thanks |

I'd say you will be fine.
Maybe fit everything and try it with your existing dual MC setup.
Then if it's no good. Start ordering more parts.
I'd be thinking you will be fine though.
All the best. |

Any resource for a parts list to do this conversion? I have some of the pieces, but would need to pick up the correct bearings and an additional brake line that needs to have to correct flare I’d assume. Thanks |

You need the calipers, the hubs, and rotors from a non turbo 944. You will not use the backing plates or spindles. The split bus bearings will work. Get an adapter kit from one of the vendors listed above I have always used Old Speed’s kit with great results. I have used his kit 4 or 5 times now so I will continue to use it with confidence. You will need a dual circuit master cylinder. I have used everything from a rabbit with an adapter to a rebuilt 67 only and even lucked out with an NOS 67 only master. I have never used a bay or Porsche one so can’t speak to the results. Longer softer break hoses are needed also but they are the same fittings as the bus slave cylinder.
The only issue I have ever run into is the 1963 spindle. It was a weird crossover year. I can’t remember what about them are weird but the caliper would not line up properly and I had to mill the mounting pad down a bit to line up. _________________ Looking for anything from Hal Casey Motors out of Hamburg New York, from license plate surrounds to matchbooks.
