|
|
Hi,
last weekend I bought a splitbus windshield washer bottle.
When I open the lid I see al long and a short tube.
One of the tubes is not connected to the lid since a platic part is broken (and gone).
Q's:
- is it possible to disassemble the lid without damaging it (how)?
- Since this appears to be a known problem; is there a known solution?
Thanks in advance. _________________ Frank

You can use parts from one pump assembly to fix another. I did this on my own, and my friend Jim's washer bottles. They both are working fine now. I've got an extra bottle (broken) that still has the "guts" of the washer pump and a worn out rubber button. I'll try and remember to get a picture of it tonight.

If you get stuck, pm me and I'll be glad to do the same. I did fix mine using parts from three different OEM plunger buttons but none of them were broken in that spot |

I had what sounds like the exact same problem. I had to glue to tube back into the plastic pump. I used some type of epoxy on the inside, then covered it with a silcone glue out the outside. So far it works fine. |

I shot this about 10 minutes ago, right on my desktop here at work. Hope it's what you are looking for.

The thing on the end of the tube is copper fitting with a small screen in it. It filters out any debris that could get in the washer system. Not critical, but good to have.
I just saw this ad over in the classifieds. Unfortunatetly it does not show the back side of the pump assembly.
