A little, but more excited than anything. Need to find another so I can get some answers to questions only another owner would be able to provide. Things like what is that carpet material? What aftermarket "white" most closly matches the "ermine interior." Same with the top: It is "sand" but nothing seems all that close except GM white, perhaps. And it looks like StayFast doesn't make white canvas tops. Who knew? Guess I'll have to go vinyl for that. _________________ Yes Virginia, beer can make you smarter.

Nothing, I took everything with me when moving from Cali to Georgia, it still is in the garage somewhere. You still sure you want an original system? I read somewhere the tank itself is of no use since you can't find that type of freon any more? _________________ Das nette kleine weiße Auto

If I recall correctly the ban on Freon was a ban on production. I just might know someone with several pounds of freon still. Just maybe...
How's GA? Better than CA? How's that humidity? Born in TX and lived in NC, so know a little something about being wet. _________________ Yes Virginia, beer can make you smarter.

GA is fine, definetely different from California, but I will not talk about it on a public forum in this day and age.
Fewer VW's, also more traffic kills my chances of driving the VW bec it's all stop and go and I don't like driving on low gears. More rain means I do have to replace that gruyere top now.
I guess I can start by PMing you pics of the A/C system components I have and we can go from there. _________________ Das nette kleine weiße Auto

Oh yeah, also I have seen these white vinyl tops and they look like what they are: vinyk, kind of cheap plastic, which is sad, I am considering a stayfast "sand" color as a replacement, just because. _________________ Das nette kleine weiße Auto

The bummer with the canvas is the lightest is actually "tan." Its way too dark to emulate the orig color. What I have found is that it appears "GM White" is very close (at least looking at Internet pictures) to VW's "sand." Its vinyl, however. Can't remember the name of the mfr, but it wasn't Chuck's or The Guild. It was one that comprised of three initials. Easy search to find it again. Haven't heard back from them as I asked them for some small swatches a few days ago. Guess too busy for my $. Chuck and The Guild are never too busy, so that's where I'm heading most likely. The Guild has some of the best prices I've seen, so most likely going with them (same time zone too - shipping). _________________ Yes Virginia, beer can make you smarter.

There is a Peach Red Metallic Champagne 1978 Beetle Convertible in Shawnee Kansas with only 38 miles. It came from a Colorado estate.
Mark Bozich is the owner. |

I will post a picture here in a bit. Let me finish up something first. I wish I knew how many were made with this color scheme. |

Did you ever get your question answered about other peach red metallic members? |

Yup, figured it out. Started this thread approx two years ago. Sadly, haven't had time to start working on it. Just bought a place with a huge shop, so hoping to finally get to work on it this summer. Got the parts at least (more or less). _________________ Yes Virginia, beer can make you smarter.
