EMPI Titelock Luggage Carrier , How many are out there?

Okay apparently I've been doing some serious research on the Jim Dandy rack and now the Empi titelock luggage carrier. Both are very similar but I was looking at Jason Edens rack and my rack and came to the conclusion that my rack is different from Jason's rack. We had different latches that hold down to the rain gutter and my rack was a bit longer and the Jim dandy rack has two flat bars on the side where my rack had two tubular bars on each side. So looking at the photo of the EMPI Titelock luggage carrier and the Photo of the Jim Dandy rack it appears that my rack is indeed an EMPI Titelock luggage carrier like the old guy I got the rack from in Redlands said it was. Hmmm Okay so now I guess my new question is ?? HOW MANY EMPI TITELOCK LUGGAGE CARRIER RACKS ARE THERE??
I'm sure you guy's are bored with this subject but I'm not. Any help would be appreciated. I'm hoping to be the "ONLY ONE" with this rack!!! Now with that all figured out my 43 split will truly be an EMPI accesorized split. My dream is finally coming together. To do what no KDF Purist would have the nutsack to do and that's roll a 43 KDF split daily and slammed to the ground.

The last time I tried to update the records, Greg got all pissed at me.all I wanted to do was record the new owner on his Jim Dandy rack . It was sold to some outside the united states. We lost one. Raj,I will keep my eyes and ears alert if you are looking for a Jim Dandy rack,, As far as trying to purchase a true Empi...I am not ready to sell mine..

Well I finally got some confirmation from RestoJohnny and also some visual reference from some photographs that I do in fact own an EMPI Titelock Rack. That makes mine 1 of 2 that are known to exist. I wonder if another is hiding out in someones barn or attic and they don't even know about it. Someone will maybe trip across another one in the future. Too bad there are no serial numbers, let alone much reference to the racks at all. Is there anything in print other than that one magazine article? I have several Foreign Car Guides with Jim Dandy Ads in them but have never ran across any ads for the Empi Titelock Rack.

I was lucky that my Jim Dandy Luggage Rack had both of it's identifying stickers in place. On my EMPI Titelock Luggage Rack I can see where there used to be stickers on it but they are long gone. Here is a vintage magazine cover that shows an EMPI Titelock Luggage Rack. You can see, although not clearly, that there is some sort of sticker or label on it. This has been hiding out in the Jim Dandy Forum and I've seen it a bunch of times and it never dawned on me until now.

The Samba Member t3kg that owns this VW AUTOIST Magazine provided to me a 300 dpi high resolution scan of the magazine cover and inside page article explaining the cover. Here you still cannot read the label but you can see the placement of it better than the original scan. I'm not sure if all of the EMPI Titelocks had labels but I know mine did at one time.

Perhaps the spelling of "Florida" and maybe your tag line needs an update? Also is it Jason Eden or Edea? Either way RestoJohnny helped to sell Jason Edens Jim Dandy Rack to the guy listed as "JZ56oval". The Jim Dandy Rack that you show listed that is owned by "Naked" is the same Jim Dandy Rack that I now own. If you other guys bother to follow the list, it would be really cool to have some updated photos in the forum. I know there is a Jim Dandy that is for sale and that is currently "pending". It may get lost track of in the mix during the sale if the new owner could care less who knows if he owns it or not.

Randee @ Randar Wheels found one earlier this year in Oregon. He just recently sold it to a guy in Florida that plan on reproducing them. Does this new found rack make #8?

Greg's rack sold and went overseas and then was later spotted for sale. No telling where it is if it did sell. Randee's rack which isn't listed went to Florida.

Looks like there is a 3rd EMPI Titelock Rack to come out of the wood work. Pretty cool what can be hiding in peoples garage for 20 years or so. This fellow showed up in the Jim Dandy Forum. I spotted that it was an EMPI Titelock and not a Jim Dandy immediately as far as my knowledge of the 2 racks goes.

There are only 3 racks. RestJohnny sold his Titelock to Matt. RestJohnny is the fellow that realized these were EMPI racks and not Jim Dandy.
