I got a sandrail in a trade from another guy. I've been going through it identifying parts to see what all has gone into it (because the previous owner was not the builder so he didn't have much info).
So far, what I do know:
041 heads, "D" ported intakes, slightly larger valves then stock (not by much though)
94MM bore.
KEP stage 3 pressure plate.
311B rods, balanced
Mahle pistons
lightened flywheel
Scat intake with Weber DFAV carb
Full flow oil pump
What I don't know:
The pistons are Mahle and have the part number 92P17 on them. What does that number mean? I can't find a corresponding part number ANYWHERE for them. I am trying to verify the compression height because of the lack of knowledge on the crank (see below), and if they are just basic cast flat tops.
The crank had "Don's Speed" stamped into one of the throws. There's no welding or counterweights added. Journals measure at approximately 54.5mm (maybe 55mm?). It is drilled for 8 dowel pins and appears to have been balanced. Any good way to verify the stroke?
The cam appears to be a regrind of a stocker. Other than normal C2, D2, and K2 casting marks, the only identifying feature I can find is a stamp of "41" on the end. Does that mean anything to anyone?
I'll have a lot more questions as I am building this back up over the next week or two, but that's the topic of another thread so we'll leave this one where it is |
