WOW. I really am impressed by this. This is "kewl" to see a company taking an intrest in what their customer base thinks of them, when so many companies are shipping customer service over seas. In general forgetting about you them minute they have your dollar. I haven't had any experience with your company yet. I plan to in the future as my car is under construction. I wish you the best and hope your company stays successful for years to come. |

I found one item on your site and I ordered it as soon as I had the money, that was last year around October or something. It was a Trailer hitch.
Needless to say My card never got charged(Thank God), and after 3-4 months of waiting for something that was supposed to be shipped in a couple of weeks, I emailed you back and got the response that you don't offer that product any more. I am glad I didn't get charged for it. I do not normally order thing over the internet, because I don't like submitting personal info.
I just think that you could have emailed me to notify me that you weren't going to be offering that particular product anymore, instead of letting it go, waiting for me to e-mail you after 3-4 months of waiting to say that you no longer offer that product.
That is bad business if you ask me. But hey I seem to be one of the few, you seem to have taken care of everyone else pretty well.

Sorry, Tim, that was during my learning days, i apologize. We were going to produce the hitches and after our prototype was done and sent off, the phone never once rang again until your order. We waited a little bit to see if anybody else would order one, we even advertised it on this website and no such luck. So we had to abandon the product. Give me a call and we will send you a christmas gift for the earlier troubles! Take care and have a happy holiday! |

Pete, Thanks for the response. I looked for about 2 years for a hitch that sounded was within my price range, and was easy to install. Your hitch seemed perfect for me. I am sorry that it didn't work out for us on this issue. I still check out your rims and stuff on the website. I wish there were more of a market for these hitches. I was mostly bummed that i couldn't have one of them sweet looking hitches.
How I just send you an E-mail. Or is your number posted somewhere?
By the way it takes an honorable guy to apoligize like that right in public. I appreciate your honesty and the explination.

I talked with Pete a few times through e-mail and over the phone about his airbag setup. I was considering purchasing it for my Thing project, but decided that I didn't want to modify the chassis too much as it's a very low mileage car. Pete was extremely helpful every step of the way and answered all of my questions promptly and professionaly. For a one man show, I think he does one hell of a job in customer service, and if I had decided to go the airbag route, I would have no qualms in purchasing from him. |

Thanks Pinky for the kind words! Just to let you and everybody else know, we are working on a complete "bolt on" High Horsepower Air Ride kit that will have no welding needed and will be able to take the extreme force of high horsepower. SO now, modifying the chassis will not have to be a neccessity. Just thought you should know. Have a good one Pinky! _________________ TheSamba members-only discount - Samba24

E-mail sent. Thanks for doing whatever you can to make this right.
By the way I am looking through your site, do you have any Mirrors? I am still searching but not finding yet. I could have sworn I seen some Iron cross looking mirrors a while back. My mirror fell off a bout a month ago. LOL I have been looking for a suitable replacement. I bet My Black Herb would look sweet with some of those.
Tim
**EDIT** Okay I found your mirrors Marked in the custom mirrors section. LOL. That is definately not in my christmas budjet. Thanks though. _________________ life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out shouting......."Holy Shit! what a ride!"

Pete - I have read a lot of your coutner arguments against Creative Engineering in the UK which sorted of descended into mud slinging... I was really put off by that.
I just didn't think that was necessary or professional. |

Custom splits, I am sorry you see it as Mud Slinging. Creative engineering is a quality outfit and produces great parts, no one has ever questioned that. What i stated in my quotes were from customers who have had their parts or have seen first hand, what went wrong with them. It is not a thought nor a hear say but what actual customers who call me to discuss there problems with a competitors kits. How does a company get better? By improving on areas that become damaged or are proned to problems.
Also you have to remember who is stating facts to people on the web. There is a guy who is doing a project split window bus and he is promoting the heck out of the kit but has yet to drive with their parts on the vehicle. How can somebody give advice on a part if they only use it in the garage and have put no miles on the parts? You can't. Peopl who have it on there vehicle and drive with it should post their thoughts and experiences.
So in defense of my company and I, There is no "mud slinging", I have no problems with CE nor any of its products. I hope this clears up any confusin that might have occured. Take care! _________________ TheSamba members-only discount - Samba24

I know the guy you're talking about, and I've seen a lot of posts, and yes he can only comment on build quality, fit and so on; not ride or durability of the system. But, having said that, I have never seen a comment by anyone with any problems with the Creative Engineering kit - yet you keep alluding to said problems. Care to elaborate on what those problems may be?
All I see is you've had a few pop-shots at a competitor without backing up with facts and I don't like that business practice. It makes me wonder about the professionalism of the person designing the kit.
And I would hope you've got past the days of acting in this thread (http://volksrods.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=10131). Regardless of what is said against you, that's not how I would expect any company I use to respond. Rise above it. Make a good product, give good customer service and comment on the strengths of your own kit, not the weaknesses of a competitor (of which, as I mention earlier, I've not heard of.) |

I wish i could record the phone calls of people who have called me to give you this information but i don't have those capabilities. You can only trust me that i have gotten those calls or you don't. I guess either the people who know me or the reputation that i have with my customers will back me up as you see in this thread. I can't believe the Volkrods thread is coming up now some 1 1/2 years later. When I started this business I used any and all marketing ability i had to let people know what we were all about. Needless to say at that time, they did not want to hear it. I have learned from that and you might say I am "allowed to be on the forum."
Also I have not posted about the "alluded" parts for some time now because there is no need for me to spend my time arguing over it. 2 calls that i could remember were regarding the beam freezing up when debrit would get in between the swivel joint and the lower beam section. Thus allowing it to stick or to not move at all. A simple mod of creating a rubber flap around it would solve it as i gave that info to those customers. 1 of them even decided against and bought an air ride system from me and he enjoys the ride with no problems. There is no mud slinging. But i will now look into recording my conversations to be fully covered when somebody askes me again on the subject.

you might have me mixed up with another company, because i don't take pop shots at competitor, they take pop shots at me.
One thing that i need to stress to you is that i am in VW industry as a business and i get 100 calls a day on anything from my parts to helping people out with their projects to hearing about peoples problems with competitors products. I dont think you do but i could be wrong. So therefore i hear it first hand and can only let you and the public know about it. Kind of like news on the tv or in a newspaper. If somebody asks about a subject that i know some news about, i let them know. No pop shots though, just info.
I need to thank you for kicking up old dirt about the Volksrods thing, because i had to learn at one time and to get the crap kicked out of me at the begining only made me strive to be better today. _________________ TheSamba members-only discount - Samba24

Okay, this is getting a bit like tennis - going back and forth and I'm not really getting any satisfactory answers, or a warm fuzzy feeling about Airkewld. you asked for opinions - and there's mine.
You can't expect people to believe 'your word' on claims of failings with another product - that's just plain and simple bad mouthing. I could claim I'd done business with you, and you had let me down, sent me the wrong kit, etc, etc... and that everybody should take my word for it. But I haven't, so to anyone reading this; I have not done business with Airkewld and not had a negative experience, I just have a sour taste in my mouth about them after researching air ride kits and reading Pete's posts.
I also find it hard to believe that for one incident out of all the kits CE sold, and, as you say, the sake of a

simple mod of creating a rubber flap |
someone would junk an air-ride setup and replace it with a new set-up. Especially not most VW enthusiasts I know as they work on a budget and are resourceful chaps. It just sounds very strange to me.
Finally, I don't have you confused with another company, unless you have had your account hijacked. As we're discussing your conduct against Creative Engineering, it's interesting to note CE don't post here so I doubt your defense of everyone being against you to be valid either. The VolksRod thread isn't one of people not wanting to hear, it appears to be one of your extremely immature way of dealing with a complaint.
Ok, I'll leave it there. I have no axe to grind, I have not dealt with you, but I am in the market for an air ride setup and read the majority of your posts to learn all I can about pros, cons, manufacturers, etc. People reading your response make their decisions, just like me.
Thanks.
