just found this new book (scroll down)
http://www.drive.com.au/editorial/article.aspx?id=9433&vf=1
wondered if it is out yet and if anybody actually can give us a review. $87 is a lot of ducets to buy blindly, but it seems interesting... _________________ Raul

That 2007 Kombi doesn't look nearly as cool as the prototypes.
And $90,000??!?

It wasn't too specific on how to go about ordering one. Anyone have any ideas? _________________ 1954 RHD Aussie Oval |

Snce the site referenced is from Australia one can assume that price quoted is in Aussie dollars, not U.S. The T5 Kombi is the replacement for the Eurovan. Not likely to be imported to the U.S. This is based on what a friend of mine who is a service rep for VWoA told me. This has to do with a marketing decision and the fact that T5s are still built in Germany. Because of the dollar-euro exchange it would be difficult to be competetive against Honda, Toyota and Chrysler offerings. Manufacturers are sensitive to specific price points within a market. Personally I like the style much better than the "New" Microvan. BTW the last annoncement from VW was that the "New" Microvan would not be produced. |

I was referring to the book. Looks interesting.
VW Australia came out with a small book in the 60s that told the history of the VW in Australia with production line photos and such. Obviously no longer in print, but I was able to find one from a company on-line that specializes in automtoive literature. _________________ 1954 RHD Aussie Oval |
