Does anybody know if they work in 1988 2.1 L? Is there actually a performance benefit? Could it cause problems in the long run? |

my understanding is these things fool the brain into thinking it's cold therefore running a fat(rich)mix. _________________ If You Build It______It Will Run

I believe you need a specific ECU 022D, aircooled.net sells the chip and has the info. |

Its a little more than tricking it into running rich, that's easy to do with a resisitor, and often the "ebay scam".
A true chip will change the mapping of the injector timing, spark timing, and in turn give it a little more boost in some power ranges and remove the stock rev limiter. In most modern cars this can be changed on the fly with a laptop, but not in our old Vannies... _________________ -Dan

I seen the little e-bay trick and then also seen a computer upgrade for $50.00 and has anyone ran one of those off e-bay? |
