I don't know if this exist already or not, but...
I was thinking today of all my old volkswagens and wish I knew were and how they are doing. Also thinking of my current bus and wish I knew where it has been and what it's been through.
I would be awesome if The Samba had a feature where you could register your volkswagen on the site and it would keep tabs on the vehicle you were posting about. Possibly registering the VIN and creating a unique vehicle number thats some how connected to your account. If you sell or buy a vehicle that been registered, then the unique number is passed along by the PO to the new owner, and the record of the vehicle keeps going. Would be handy to read up on your new project or try to reconnect with vehicles of old.
How many times have we seen the "looking for "said" vehicle." post?
Anything like that out there? _________________ Jared |

This isn't really a site question, but more a general question. However, there are various specialty registries on the samba and elsewhare. There is a registry on the split bug forum for Hoffman splits, and there are registries for coachbuilts (Hebmullers, etc) and early Ghias, and likely Barndoor buses, and some Type III's, but you do realize that there were 20million+ built and countless remaining and of course many would not participate finding it invasive and possibly a security (theft) risk. |
