I know someone with a 63 looking for a rear window.I have one from a 68 and a 71.will either work?they look the same as my 65's.

No, non of those will work

1953-57
1958-64
1965-later

Of course sometime in the 70s, they got a rear window defroster.

Correction: 65-71, in 1972 the rear window got bigger, while the side windows stayed the same size.

I would have never known. Embarassed Maybe I should just stick to answering Pre 64 questions as I've never owned a newer VW built after 1963.

rear window defroster came in 1969, but of course that came from my "Clymer Shop Manual" and I have noticed they have been wrong before on some things....
