This is exactly the look I want to work toward. I want to learn to do most of it myself.

Finally got my Dad's Thing to the house, glaring parts missing are front and rear seats... Ideas? Anyone have a set for sale?
Have pretty much all the parts needed I think.. Anyone in McKinney TX want/able to come look and give some pointers on remainder of reassembly?

Not my Thing, but I found this old picture from 1980 at Pismo Beach. Being a green car, this should be a 74. It looks pretty hammered for only being 6 years old.

These are the only pics I have found of the 73 I owned in the late 1970s or early 80s.
Drove it from Colorado Springs to So Cal towing a U-haul trailer then back without trailer. I had forgotten it did not have the rear wheel fenders on.

Due to a family emergency, me & my Mrs. made the trip down to San Clemente and stayed with my little brother & his wife for a couple of days. First chance to see his Thing in person. Pretty impressive ride with the ecotec engine & King suspension all tied to the roll cage.
He tells me that he has no 4th gear in his bus trans. HE tells me that he will probably send it to Rancho for an overhaul... possibly Dave Folts.
Both will be fine choices brother.

Love the stance. Is that a respray? I just picked up a '73 myself that has a similar green with white showing underneath and I just assumed it's a bad respray?
