Got a Bounty Hunter buggy. I used the $35 dollar wire kit. Headlites and park lites and dash lites all run on 1 30 amp switch. I had a 16 amp fuse blow at the pointy tip that sets in the hole of the fuse box prongs, just one end and it looks like it just burned a hole in the end of the fuse metal. If you just spin the fuse the lites come on but road vibration makes it lose contact. Put a new fuse in no problem. What gives? Got 6000 miles on it since I finished it spring 2004. No problems up to now. Has anybody ever seen a fuse go like that ? Maybe just the fuse jiggles and arcs a little every time I go over rough surfaces and finally burned thru? The car never goes off road it's more of a lowered street legal go-kart.

I have some very specific information regarding this issue, so listen very very carefully........
This is what I want you to do..........
Remove the fuse with the index and thumb fingers of your right hand..........
Once removed, place the fuse in a suitable mobile refuse device.........
once properly disposed of, I want you to do this.........
move on.

Ps: The above was just a joke. I didn't intend to sound sarcastic. The fuse was probably a fluke deal and nothing to worry about. _________________ SHMO's Baja |

I think the fuse was loose, and arcing eventually led to it's demise. Road vibration should not be making a fuse lose contact.
Might not be a bad idea to put a bit more spring pressure on the holder by bending the spring downwards. Careful, that fusebox will break easily, and the metal fuse retainer will pop right off.
The fuse should pop in with a bit of pressure, you know? On all the $35 buggy harnesses I've done, I've always bent the fuse retainers together to make the fuses a tight fit.. _________________ OG JHC
