These are pics of Polly's Semi-Westy's 1970 Bay interior. It is more functional for her use than the origional interior. (it's in the classifieds!)
I did my Westy with with a whole wad of the old style tuck and roll and less cabinets than origional. No pics yet.
Have fun with the dilemma- being creative or retaining the classic interiors. _________________ 71 Superbug

If you didn't want a camper interior, you could do this:

The wood panels are a cheap piece of panel from Lowes, flipped over to the back, and stained. I made the headboard, kickboards, doorpanels, and all the panels in the rear area, including the hatch. Very cheap and easy. I used the original pieces for stencils.
The floor is linoleum. Not real wood. It makes it real easy for spills by the two young boys of mine. No carpet for drinks to soak into.
The curtains cost $1/yard. A clearance at Walmart. Wish I would have bought all of it. The cloth is thick to give us privacy and blocks the sun really well in the morning.
I too am looking into putting in another seat for a passenger. I may take out the cabinet behind the driver's seat and put a small bench seat there. Good Luck and have fun!!
Oh, here's another idea we came up with. We made this curtain so that you can have your slider door open for air, but have privacy at the same time. It's nice to sleep on a cool summer night and leave the slider open with the curtain closed.

I went minimalist.
3/4 bed, 2 jump seats, custom fold up table, and a custom cabinet (not finished yet... just wait...) that is shoulder height with drink holders and entertainment.
No pics on this computer to post, though I've posted the beginnings before. Blue carpet, gray panels, etc.

I prefer the look of stock for the most part, but I sure do like that light wood look in Eric's Westy.
More shots in my gallery.
