Split bus with full flowed 1904. Remote filter mounted near left bumper bracket. The oil lines are within an inch or two from the header. Am I asking for trouble? Would braided line make any difference? Even if the lines will hold up, any opinions on heat transfer? Thanks |

I had that same thought. Will probably try it just to be safe. I was hoping someone had some personal success/ horror stories I could learn from. |

I use hydraulic lines going inbetween the upper and lower header pipes. They don't touch but have never had any heat damage. These lines are heat resistant and handle like 10k psi. They are tough and much cheaper then most high quality lines. About $20-25 a line. _________________ 59 DD panel. Former Romano's TV delivery bus

Is that something you can buy by the foot? What kind of fittings does that need? _________________ Tim |

get some of that "Firebraid" from aircooled.net .. its sold be the foot and helps out some temp wise..every bit helps. And also this insulating sheath helps from scraping up the header coating etc. by the braided lines.

I second Glenn's assertion...I've got a Berg full flow kit on my 1776 with stainless braided lines and they come close to the header/Jtube junction but no burns or holes or scratches after nearly 2K miles...oil temps aren't hurting either. |

Gonna try the braided hose. It seems to be the simplest solution and easiest to get.
These forums are great! It's almost as fun as wrenching on the bus. _________________ Tim |

My hydraulic line was sold by the foot. The fittings are separate and costs very depending on what kind you want. I decided to get two lines made with a solid fitting on one side and a swivel on the other. The swivels were any dollars more so I opted to just get them on one end so I can install them.
1/2" hose is what I used and I think they put on 3/8" fittings. _________________ 59 DD panel. Former Romano's TV delivery bus
