Hi guys, I'm looking at a 67 for sale in my area. The luggage shelf needs replacing and there is an area below rusted all the way though. I circled it in the pic. What other replacement parts do I need to make it solid? It doesnt look like the heater channel, but it's awefully low to be part of the shelf. All help is appreciated guys. BTW, he wants $1k for it.. good deal??

it really depends what your "area" is.
there is alot of patch panels out there as well as stock pieces
you can prolly cut out of a junker
the 1k sounds a bit steep, depending on the area

1000.00 bucks? I agree!!!! that is kind of steep. look at the size of the hole that is in there. offer them less and see if they will go for it.

but if it's what you want,.. then go for it.

It's hard to tell from the picture but that car looks wavy. I'm wondering if that hole is the worst rot that car has. Are the doors straight on the car? In the picture that car looks loaded with mud.

because of the holes,i'd offer no more then 800.
thats just me and does not reflect what others would offer.
i'd prefer something more vintage for that much and have
gotten quite a few good deals on vintage iron for well under 1000.
i'd tell you more but i'd have to kill ya...lol
i don't like the painted fender welting for one.
just what ever you do just don't get into a rush jumping into a VW
because as soon as you do, something else will show up
oh yeah,..does it run?

yeah, for some reason people are awefully unreasonable about their prices here. I already own a 73 standard, so I feel the addiction getting stronger, HAHA. It has the original 1500 in it, and it runs great. I found a rustfree baja 67 with a brand new motor for the same price, and wondered how much work it would be to "unbaja" it.
