While at work today, I was thinking back to the old "VWplanet" days. I started to think about some of the buses that were here on thesamba back in the early days and wondered what has happened to some of them? Some buses seemed to drop off the radar completly. No pics of them at shows or anything. I guess they went over seas or maybe they ended up parked in a dark garage somewhere. Repainted????
Some of the buses were.....A flat black 56 panel from maybe Arizona. I remember the ad said something about incorect welding being done to it. Another was a grey lowered panel from Florida, probably a 58 or so around y2k. Another dove blue panel around 57-8ish from arizona that came with extra doors. I also seem to remember more barndoor pickups being for sale and their prices weren't bad at all. Does anyone remember these buses??

I remember the barndoor pickups. I wish I would have bought one then as I want one now... I'm keeping my eye open for one now but haven't seen anything really tempting lately.

There are a lot of Barndoor pickups stored away in people's garages or yards or otherwise off the road that used to show up at shows.

A few have gone back across the Atlantic.

I know where a barndoor pickup is sitting right next to the highway. like six feet away from the road. the guy won't sell it, and it is such a piece of crap that I wouldn't buy it.

Can I pick the fight about barndoor pickups not having a barn door? I love doing that. Twisted Evil
