Different switches, but a smooth installation. Over one year and it's still workin'. I really need to do that write up on mounting the pump in the bottle. Makes it vibration free Wink

Excellent!
Thanks for sharing this cool idea! Now to find the switch, the Ebay guy mentioned in the link no longer selling, I will try locally.
Your switch looks pretty much like the one in my 71, thanks again Wink

Just use the stock switch. When you remove the button you'll see there's a long plastic tube. Cut out the back of the switch, zip tie your washer button there and when you push the stock button in it will push the washer button and activate the pump. I've had mine for 10 years always works.

This looks great, how much modification is required to fit the momentary switch?

All I had to do was open the hole up a bit.

I'm planning on doing this mod but I have some questions about the hoses. Is there any reason NOT to remove the hoses and flip them so that the longer lengths are on the passenger side and closer to the bottle and pump?

Or should I just get new hoses? If so what kind of hose and where? Can they be purchased at my local flaps?

Also where do I draw the power from? Specifically where on the fuse box should I attach it?

I replaced the hoses with black airline hoses from a pet store. They have worked well and were easy to run. You can buy a Y splitter from the pet store too. Regarding lengths, it really doesn't matter so you should run them however you want.

For power, you can run it to the accessory fuse (7 i think) on your fuse block.

Thanks! One last question, am I reading this right? In order to get to the wiper switch (I have a 77 westy) I have to remove the steering wheel? I don't need to drill out the tamper proof bolt do I?

If you are wanting to do the stock-like hookup that the guys talked about earlier in this thread then you only need to remove the horn button and remove the main nut then slide out the cluster. You shouldn't need to take out that tamper-proof bolt.

I didn't do any of that fancy stuff even though I thought it was pretty cool. I just put a momentary switch on my dash next to the headlight switch and wired the pump into that. It's a helluva lot easier than taking apart the steering wheel. Yeah, it's not stock, but it's simple and it works.

My advice is to take the win of getting a pump in there and using a button on your dash or somewhere else. Save the dissembly of the steering column for a rainy day.

It really isn't that hard, do it right the first time and you won't have to do it again.

A PO of my bus did an install here and actually did a decent job, I was impressed.
Turned out in addition to a wire coming loose, the pump motor was running, and shred healthy but it wouldn't pump, even with the motor below the height of the reservoir.
So, I bought the same motor that the OP used.
HS anyone else found an issue with these things spraying over the bus? Lol
I get some on the windscreen, but ALOT on the ceiling of my garage! Laughing

Find something with a pointed end and stick it into the nozzle and adjust accordingly. The nozzle is kinda like a ball or BB that swivels in its housing.

The unmentionable green book describes it with photos, section 4:10.9 Wink Razz

Wow, that was so simple. Took like three shots to get both dusted and spraying in the same angle/height. But it's done!

Thanks again Busdaddy!
