Where put the the heavy jack before 8/55'.

I know the heavy jack after 8/55' is put under the bonnet and is secured by a steel clip in the well to the right of the spare wheel.

I restored my 54'oval and i want to now Before 8/55' where is correct i put it and only one kind of heavy jack use or is change after 8/55'?

The jack had a canvas bag for storage.
I believe the bag was just placed in the trunk area, above the gas tank, with the tool rool.
