I found this one here:

It is for sale, but in the UK for £200, i've put the link for the page underneath, i'm sure the guy will sort you some photos for the flip mechanism. There is also a race notch in the UK with flip fronts and stuff driven by Jolly Jim

I don't know what your plans are or were you live but here in California a one piece "break away" front end is ileagel to run on the street.

That shows you a little of what you want to see but not really.
You have to hack the whole front end off. If its not a race car
its a butcher mod.

thanks for all those who have replied....

alright then...looks like i will keep the metal. a tilt front end would be kinda slick though....

as for illegal in cali.....i guess that goes for carbs that may never be used upon a highway....too low to the ground...and hopefully speeding...

thanks again!

I used to have one on a Fast. I drove it on the streets of LA, Calif with no problems. I ran a late gas tant so I could fill it. The front end had to slide forward on ball bearing slides. Then it would clear the front beam. I trimmed the rear of the front fenders one inch below the body line. The rear lower section was steel. Got that idea from old Chev's with a tilt front end. Aso the fiber glass all was seemed to bow out there. I used two duz fastners to hold it in place. and can find a old pic out of hot VW if you want.

As far as legal you are right everything we do seems to be ilegal in one way or another. With one piece glass front ends it is only a problem if you get into a wreck. Then it can be a big problem. Just like with ins. and reg. if it is not current you should not be on the road and if you were not on the road this accident would not have happened, their for you caused the wreck even if you were not the wrecker but the wreckey.

Sucks but they have pulled it off many time in court. That being said most if not all my toys are not "street legal" Twisted Evil
