As suggested I followed the Bentley again. Gaining more knowledge and confidence as I go. All this time it was the idle speed adjusting screw. The PO had it cranked all the way down. I started loosening it up und mein fraulein started singing a sweeter tune. It took it even further and started timing, adjusting, etc. now she sings like Marlene Deitrich. I then took her on a shakedown run, 280 RT w/ no problems. I am pumped, stoked, psyched, fired up. Thanks Samba contibutors for all your help. Groooovy!! 'Laughing'

That's Wunderbar, btw, Walrus.

A better word might have been: Ausgezeichnet

"Das ist gut."

If Heidi's singing like Marlene Dietrich-I'd find the sexy, breathy, sound distracting and probably run right off the road. Embarassed

Glad you got her running!
But.....The screw you adjusted controls the MIXTURE for the FI.
Next step go to a shop that has an EXHAUST GAS ANALYZER and get the mixture set correctly. If you set it up to lean or to rich you MIGHT be headed for problems down the road, the ONLY way to tell if it's set correctly is with an EGA.

I don't think so. The mixture adjust is the one (usually covered by a plug) on the airflow metre, the idle speed is the one on the intake throttle body. Wink

Walrus,

Yep you ARE correct. The one on the AFM is mixture and the one on the throttle body is idle. Still...if it hasn't been set using an EGA it won't hurt to check it.
