I know that almost everyone is using the AS41 case. I am about to start buy stuff for the future... a 2017 this winter. Is this the case that I should get, and/ or where should I get one. The one in my car is an AS41 w/ 1641... the case came from B.A.P., (guy before me built it). I am thinking about a new case to start everything off right. I guess I just want a great case... and the builder can external flow and machine for the crank and all. What about Cyl #3, and stuff, is this stuff that the builder will worry about?

Is the "super" case, the same as the regular case, but with work by someone such as CB Perf. done to help the case?

Thanks.

And why is it that VW doesn't make a case out of gold... the price of them seems to be the cases weight in gold. Forget the stock market... invest in VW cases.

I know you were just kidding, but with gold at around 450 an ounce, I think the magnesium case is still cheaper. I'd like to think that when I'm old and retired, some bug-eyed youngster showers me with cash for all those cases I've hidden away over the years. That's my retirement plan. Laughing

In a type-1, I don't think you can do much better than a new AS41. Put a good CW crank in there with everything well ballanced and you should get a good full service life from it. Steve Hollingsworth can give you the straight info on this. Steve prepped the case I have in my 1776 (Berg crank) and it doesn't drip a drop.
