Hey guys I'm building my first off-road vw engine. My question about oiling is this... I like the looks and ease of assembly of the bolt on spin on oil pump with the filter arm that comes straight off the pump. But... right now it's really easy to tap for a full flow system. What do you guys think?

Looks like something to get knocked off in the woods real easy to me.

i had a filter on my oil pump and it always came off. i had 2 of them and i will never get another one. the first time it came off i was just going down marbach rd. i think i hit a man hole or something.it was only about 12" off the ground . after that i moved the filter in side the deck lid.
