It's not in the online parts manual.

It looks like it might be the rear "seat" luggage bar upright for a Barndoor Deluxe?

It's one of the 3 pieces that holds the bar that goes across the top of the rear seat. For Barndoors it mounts to the rear deck instead of the seat.

I'm sort of guessing on the part # though.

241 853 457 is the support that holds the bar on the deluxes to ch 20-117 901
241 853 461 is the version from 20-117 902

No 'A' version in 58 ed of the parts list. or 56 edition.

Bay window parts list shows the same # as the post barrdoor, the 241 853 457A is not listed there.

Pics?

Those are Deluxe rear seat bar uprights, 55-67.

I guess 241.853.457A = 241.853.461

My related question seems like it might belong here.I took these from a junkyard in the early '80s, not sure what year bus. There were 3 on the back of the rear seat just like most jail bar uprights, but I could only remove 2. They look like they were shortened just above a point of narrowing, compared to a normal jail bar that has no narrowing. The VW & Frivo logos and the part number look to have been ground almost smooth on the backs of both but are legible with a magnifying glass. The finish looks like factory to my inexpert eyes. I can only guess at explanations.
Anyone recognize these?
