Pretty cool. Low mileage, looks to have a fresh engine with a rod- knock.
Came with everything, even a side tent but I haven't set it up yet.
Whats the value on these things these days-
Any thoughts?

The pictures are decieving, the cabinets really are pretty beat- some water damage, lots of warping, chips, delamination.
Even though it looks super killer, the interior is at the bottom end of being actually functional. I'm thinking of storing the interior in a DRY place, and snapping in a westy interior so I can use the bus.
The best news? Man, the floors are actually shiney! Not a speck of rust, and very little body damage of any kind.
Anywa, so this thing is a "Martin Walter"? I've seached around and found some info, but they dont seem too common.
Plans?
Westy interior, drop it 3" (not slammed just tasteful), BRM's, and a 1904cc. Nothing irreversible just comfortable and clean!!
Any links to the best place to get the seals for the skylights and roof vents?
I'm guess they aint cheap!

That's good that you're saving the interior - and take lots of pics first, as it's definitely rare to see one still that together. If nothing else, down the road, you'll have the originals to use for patterns if you decide to redo the cabinets. It looks like a pretty cool layout.

Very nice find. I used to have a bus that had a Dormie top on it. Not a true Dormie camper, just the top. They are very roomy. I contacted a guy in the U.K. about parts for the top. Those tops were originally started on old Land Rovers. They are very cool. I believe there are some pics on the website. Check it out, everything you need is there I think. Also E-mail Chris, I think. He's got a catalogue of every part you will need.

It was found in Central Washington, in the dry, dry middle of the state.
It is blessfully unmolested and unrusted, but unfortunately time has taken a toll on the cabinets. I'm going to set up the tent soon and see what it looks like. Doesn't look like its ever been used and from what I can tell its the Westy style free-standing tent.
I'll probably yank the engine one of these days soon- the PO says when you pour oil into it it just comes out the bottom. And I hear a rod knock in just cranking it over.
The fixing will be fun, but I just want to go CAMPING!!

I found one for sale outside Seattle a few months back. I don't think it looked in quite as nice shape though. _________________ 1978 VW Transporter (DLNDBUS) |

i love how the stove hides behind the passenger seat. that is pretty helpful if you need more room in the back. _________________ "The future is unwritten."

soo....not easy to find the parts for the roof, at least very few internet sources. Anyone have any GOOD sources for parts?
I haven't gone to pick up an ULtraVW mag yet, maybe there's some vendors in there.
I cant WAIT to pay shipping on the skylight seals, oooh that should be great! *sarcasm*
