Well, let’s bring this back to life.
I’m in Holly Springs between Canton and Woodstock.
I’ve driven by Chuck’s (Vintage VW) a few times but it’s always been on a Sunday so I couldn’t stop in to say hi and see what’s going on.
There are quite a few houses around there with a yard full of VWs. Maybe they work there. There are also at least 5 VWs that live near me but I never see them move.
Other than The Samba I’m not much of a social media guy. I don’t have a high opinion of Zuckerberg so I’m not on his platforms ( I do have a Face Space but never post to it ) and Google hates my VPN so I’m sure I’m missing some things.
I have to believe there are many of us out there as Bugs in the Branch a couple years ago had a great turnout.
I’m not much of an organizer but I’d love to get an Air-Cooled Cadre together. _________________ Volkswagen!

And I'm in Augusta, Ga. My son is graduating from Reinhardt this spring. And on another note, I didn't have a good experience at Vintage VW - and I'll leave it at that. _________________ Oprn wrote: I'm getting to the age that any self propelled woman (no wheel chair or walker) looks HOT!! Yeah I have no experience with Vintage VW either. I’ve driven by it a couple of times but it’s always been on a weekend and they were closed.
I just escaped from Augusta! I was installing the fire system at the new Colombia County Performing Arts Center in Evans. They started to write bad checks so I bailed. From what I understand the HVAC people cut out a bunch of our conduit so I’m not even sure if it’s up and running yet.
Abscate- How extreme? My wife and I drive up to Blueridge and Brasstown Valley frequently. _________________ Volkswagen!

Silly me. I'm so unobservant.
My wife and I took a trip through the Catskills into Shandaken and Woodstock a few years ago. She used to live there working for Hell's Angels at the Tomcat Moviemate so it was quite nostalgic.
Ever seen the worlds largest kaleidoscope at the Emerson?
The big one is neat but a little hokey for adults but the rest of the place is amazing. _________________ Volkswagen!

Hey Yall,
Can anyone confirm if Vintage VW is still open and in business? Haven't been able to get anyone to pick up the phone for a couple of weeks now. _________________ _______________________________

You're better off by them not answering the phone. _________________ Oprn wrote: I'm getting to the age that any self propelled woman (no wheel chair or walker) looks HOT!! Oooo! look at that Babe! She made it from the dining room all the way to the TV room without help!! Hubba, hubba!! |

Just adding another to the list of people in North Georgia. Rome to be exact. Would be cool if there was some sort of get together. _________________ Matthew Tolbert

Well my 69 Ghia is body off in their shop and has been going through a full resto since before covid hit… honestly I had zero complaints with the shop until it seems like they just stopped working in the car when it was due to go to paint… that was March… _________________ _______________________________

My car was in pieces there too and I was getting billed when they weren't even touching it. I'm not sure if the same owner is there or not - he obviously had financial issues. So I showed up one day with my truck, loaded it up and took it to Georgia Mountain Customs. Ga Mtn Customs isn't a VW place but they were able to do the body work and paint (excellent job) and piece it back together. I've had to fix a few things and they didn't know the idiosyncrasies of VW but overall I was pleased. I would drop by Vintage VW unannounced and see what's going on - hopefully you won't have the same experience I did. _________________ Oprn wrote: I'm getting to the age that any self propelled woman (no wheel chair or walker) looks HOT!!
