Throttle? Choke? Heater cables?
Probably not a choke on a 66. Trace it back to the front. See where it goes. _________________ Why buy what you can build.

probably not a kill knob, likely for a choke cable (you won't need with later motor) or fuel tap (if the bus didn't orig. come with a gas guage)
where is the knob located?
what year is bus? |

here's the knob, its the red one.
here's the engine in the bus
the rear apron has a natural cut out of rust for the tail pipes! which sucks. as of right now we also have 3 of the 17mm bolts holding it in there, the two bottem ones and the top one thats not at the starter, and we can't seem to find where it went, my arm can't fit up there, what sould i do. _________________ Arachibutyrophobia- Fear of peanut butter sticking to the roof of the mouth.

Gas heater? Is it a switch or a cable? |

its a cable that runs all the way to the engine hatch door pretty much. its pulls in and out like the manual choke in the beetle. but i don't think its a choke. _________________ Arachibutyrophobia- Fear of peanut butter sticking to the roof of the mouth.

Oh shoot dude. That m-code 077egrest. It is for the ejection seat.
Or... it could be m-code 007 for the oil slick.
Honestly I haven't seen one like that before. _________________ Why buy what you can build.

I would hope so. It wouldn't be pretty if it didn't. _________________ Why buy what you can build.

It's for a gas heater which doesn't look to be there anymore. Do you have a hole in the firewall on the drivers side? _________________ Sanborn7

I'm with Stan - looks to be a gas heater activator.
Although I like the oil slick suggestion! _________________ The greatest obstacle to discovery is not ignorance, but the illusion of knowledge
