havent done too to much,got the pistons/jugs and a head on my 1641 single port and i also got my birth certificate..found out it had a red interior which is strange ( says it right next to the red line i put)

body is off and the chassis is going out to have a new floor put in and a new pan...also found this number on the beam (covered it with tape for now)

chassis is back.i gotta undercoat the new pan and undercoat over the stuff on the tunnel and drivers pan.

body is out to have some panels welded and undersides painted so i can drop the body on the pan.found a factory marking while removing the undercoating.

got this NOS vdo guage panel and this used clock (needs the glass replaced but it works) for my 68 bug (which i have to paint red).also found a thermostat cable for the air cleaner.... |

well its been a good while since ive worked on the 68 (been working on my jetta getting it the way i want it)..i painted the transmission ford engine gray (it would get that white chalky stuff all over it all the time soo i needed to protect it)...

wow its been a long time since i posted on this.havent really done anything since all the dough has been in my jetta.im still waiting on my axel tubes and im trying to get the body back so i can have it stripped of paint then having more bodywork done.getting axel bearings n all soon and i also got some NOS fender beading for it (i gotta find a 4th one soon) |

its been awhile since i updated again..well i got the body back and i didnt like the bodywork..quarter panel was welded on with the new panel welded behind a piece of the old one and bondo slapped all over it and instead of fixing the rear apron.it was bondod..may have to buy another quarter panel and have a good body person fix it

its a mk4.mods to it right now are 20th ae rear brakes,euro front bumper strip,hella e codes (soon retrofits with audi rs6 projectors),13pd flywheel,msd ignition,gruven parts tensioner pulley (motor is a 12v vr6),bfi stage 1 trans,stage 2 dogbone,billet coolant pipe,oil pressure guage,tdi .756 5th |

looks like the gravel guard goes the other way -- fat end towards the body and tapers towards the wheel opening. |

i have not done a thing to this car in awhile...took the beam off to rebuild it and never did anything...i in a way thought about selling it...i turned into a watercooled freak...own two waters now... |

parted out my mk4 jetta (almost done).keeping my mk3 as my daily and once i finish selling stuff off the jetta im going to redo the chassis again.get a new steering box,get all of the brake lines and master cylinder and other parts and work on the chassis.going to go with a 1641 engine but im keeping the stock carb,correct muffler and all of the tins and thermostat on it.my buddy wanted my mk4 jetta wheel so i traded him for these ORIGINAL empi sprint stars.keeping the car bone stock minus the motor and these wheels.all of em are 4.5 wide (other 3 are not in pics).i may polish the silver area or repaint it silver.keeping the black part though

started stripping the beam down to repaint it right and stripped the framehead (well started).found these numbers on the beam as well

picked up a formula vee shifter locally for 15 bucks.its not even rusted or even really pitted.just real dirty and needs a good cleaning.i have the plastic base..just missing the boot.i do have the shift knob to but its worn out
got brake lines and some grommets
should i replace the drivers floor?it doesnt have holes but its getting crusty...the seat rails are messed up (in red).i cant decide if its a good idea or not..if i do i will get a wolfsburg west pan

after hours of wire wheeling and getting all of the surface rust paint off i got my first coat of master series on.what a PITA...
