Are you looking for original tires or something that looks like an original but is a radial? I like Denman whitewalls but I've heard that there no good for driving, old technology. The BF Goodrich that Coker sells is nice and it's a radial. |

Like Steven said, go to www.cokertire.com or contact Lucas Tires in Long Beach. They should have all the specs for you. _________________ GFK

If you can find a supplier, Firestone 5.60x15 feature a 2 3/4-inch whitewall compared to a Denman which has a 2 1/4-inch whitewall. |

I thought Coker had 5.0 x 16. I believe those are the correct tires. _________________ Kevin "Wiggy"

I think Kevin is right again......5.50 or 5.60 would be too large for a split.... but not for your Zwitter. My '53 oval came with 5.60s and I can't believe that they would change half year. _________________ "What a fool believes he sees, no wise man has the power to reason away." Dobee, Dobee, Do |

The size of the tyres for all splits deluxe & standard before the "zwitter" is: 5.00x16!
Pressure front: 17,1 -18.5 lbs/sq.i (1,2 - 1,3 at)
Pressure back: 22,7 - 24,2 lbs/sq.in (1,6 - 1,7 at)
Spare wheel: 22,7 - 24,2 lbs/sq.in (1,6 - 1,7 at)
"Zwitter" and later 5.60 x 15!

Careful. All of those tires are motorcycle tires. The will fit on the 16" VW rim, but you get about a 1" wide contact patch.... and your split will look like iit is running on 4 motorcycle tires (which it would be). VERY unsafe tire for a car, load rating might not be suitable either... _________________ John Henry

That is a motorcycle tire also, although one with a very square profile. _________________ John Henry
