How do you adjust your toe with the heim welded to the tie rod? At least it looks like it is welded...

I found it way easier on the back to do as much of the gauge wiring on the bench, then install the dash prewired... just a tip.

maybe only one side is welded? early busses only had one of the two tie rods adjustable

Wow... you be left with one full turn as the smallest adjustment that way. Not much fine tuning. Didn't know that.

The tie rods are temporary. i plan on getting a rack and pinnion soon. the heims are the cheap ones and i adjusted them in and drove it around and everything seemed great so i tacked it in place so it doesnt twist. i dont have a jam nut or anything right now.

just picked up a new shell for my bug last night.

its a 70 and its in GREAT shape. all sealed up, and the doors are perfect. close nice, and seal up great.

there will be ALOT of work while trying to get this thing on my car. im gonna have to take out the entire cage, and redo most of it. but its going to be nice when im done.

scratch that idea.

buddys and i were lookin at it... we found out its wayyy too much work. the cage is welded into the pan, and we would have to cut out the whole thing, and redo it to get it in there. so im just going to take off the doors and switch them with mine, and maybe the back window area.

just try and seal my car up a little more. its just too hard to find parts for 67 without getting ripped off.

anyone know if the doors will bolt up? 70 doors with my 67 shell? anyone done it before?

hey thanks guys.

we got alot more work done today.. it looks soo much more rad.
ill try to get pictures tomorrow or the next day. i cant wait untill i get the rear LED lights put on. same ones they use on TT's and class 1's and whatnot. ordered the rack and pinnion mounting bracket.. i got a WRIGHT rack and pinnion, with u-joints, good heims with bungs and chromoly tie rods. i cant wait to put all that on. then after this desert season, im going to rip the whole front end off of the car, and go with a 10 inch wider link pin, with 4 inch longer arms, and coilovers.

Hey, El Loco Kingo...

nice job, I generally just lurk around on the forum but great job man, I watched this baja get built and it was like I was there! cool man

BUT.. I have two questions for you,

** Where did you get the clear tubing that you're using as the filler neck for the gas tank?

**AND.. Before you did anything to your blue bug, before you started the class 11 thing, where did you get the tail lights with blue dots? or did it come with them?? If you still have them I'll buy them from you if you still have them, I really dig those.

I'll shoot you a PM too.

If you can, reply ASAP...I'm trying to finish my bug soon!!!
