a buddy of mine said he would sell me his new ford 4.0 with all the wireing, and a c4 tranny for 400 bones. the motors only got a few hundread miles on it. hes geting a killer deal on a 5.0.

anyways, what would it take to put that motor in my bug? am i going to need a mendola trans or something expensive?

do you guys think its worth the work? or should i just stick to a vw motor.

just run with the VW motor for now, you have to place the radiator and the new wireing. and besides with a huge motor you would look like something out of mad max Laughing

ive always wanted to make one of those out of a old station wagen Twisted Evil

Nick, definitaly stick with vw. With a ford motor, it will weigh more than the car itself, and go through trannies like crazy.

thanks man, but i got too cought up with the idea too fast. im thinking its more work than i have money for. if im going to be spending the kind of money it needs to be done, id rather just buy tools so i can build something rad and put a big motor in that. as for now, thanks to talking to some people, ive decided im sticking to a vw motor. not sure what size, but im probably going to go with a 1600 DP single carb. just nice and clean. that way i can race it in the 5/16 class.
