1982 Diesel Vanagon-Back Up Light Switch

Hey all,

I need help with the installation of my back up light switch. Just discovered that my reverse lights do not come on at all when the manual transmission is put in reverse. I am ordering new light bulbs to replace the existing ones and I am also ordering a new back up light switch. Does the switch need to be installed on the transaxle itself? I cannot navigate my Bentley to find it....I wish I had a Bentley for my Bentley sometimes...I have to get my Vanagon inspected this month....Virginia needs her 16.00 from me and I don't want to get that REJECTION sticker slapped on the windshield......

I have the same problem. No reverse lights due to faulty reverse light switch. A quick google search yielded me this. Hope it helps
