Jake our last died when he was 7 yrs old, You have one 12 yrs old? Man to be born with muscles like they are and no lifting required. They are great dogs but most breeds are. _________________ For a Good time |

Any chance that the frame is an old one from Johnny's Speed & Chrome, with the off-road package added?
Looks quite a bit like mine, except for the upright behind seats. That's a funky curve you got in it. The upper shock mounts on the rear look they were fabbed in later.
Awesome looking front stance. The wider front should give you less tendency to slide the front end on pavement, no?
Glad to see plates on that monster. "Rails aren't just for sand anymore!" They're a blast on the street. Licensing must be pretty easy in AR, as far back as those headlights are setting. I tagged mine in KS, and they gave me all kinds of crap about the headlight/taillight spacing.
Keep up the good work, and thanks for sharing your info with the rest of us. I've learned a lot from your posts in the last few months. |

It is a Whitehill frame, company is now called XTC Motorsports. Has a couple of modifications to the frame including the off-road package. Yes the rear Shock mounts are not the out of the box deal, but they work quite well and are very strong.
The Wider front end helps alot, before On the highway I would judge where I was at by the front end ( how close to the line) only problem was the front was on track but the rear was riding the yellow lines and if the front got close to the lines the rear would be over, so the wider front end on the paved roads helps me keep my rear end on my side of the road. It drives like a big go-cart hugs the road even with the mud tires. In the dirt hard fast and sharp turns it has a tendency to plow straight so hit the turning brakes and off we go in another direction.
Cops have not given me any problems, State Trooper who did the VIN inspection thought it was pretty cool. Have not had any problems or comments with the head or tail lights. But most cops in town know me. _________________ For a Good time |

Just for my clarification, the steering box is from a Blazer, I understand that much. But is it the S10 Blazer, or fullsize Blazer? 2wd, or 4wd? The pitman arm that you used, is this the stock, unmodified Blazer arm, or is modification necessary to accomodate the 2 rod ends and the stabilizer? Thanks! |

87 full size blazer w/o power steering, not sure if it was 2 or 4WD came off the shelf guy said been there since 1993. The pittman arm is stock with mods. I cut it in two flipped the end to raise the height and welded 3/8 thick flat stock over the single hole then drilled for the heim jounts and also cut off a VW tierod for the stabilizer grommet and welded that on. If you need better pics let me know. I think it is so much better then the stock VW in every way except weighs more but that is not a concern. Bought it for around 45$ and no problem with bump steer after adjusting several, ok alot of times before final welding. _________________ For a Good time |

SHMO, effort is like power steering and turns lock to lock is 3. Brought it out in the mud today, my daughters first intro to raining mud Thought it was pretty funny when I was turning to the left not so funny when I turned to the right. straight ahead it just puts up a bunch of mud in the air.. We had a good time. But the Blazer box is a great pick as far as I am concerned I am glad I did that and the 10 inch wider with adjuster though I could of cut and turned it and been fine. The added height is great pass over rocks and don't drag where I use too.

Need your opinion for a "OH SHIT" handle. I need a handle for the passanger but I cannot hook it to the cross member, reason being for on-road I have the windshield. When I say it cannot "hook" I mean it cannot rap around the tube. Any pics or ideas ? _________________ For a Good time |

Get a piece of tubing with the i.d. the same as the o.d. of the cross member. Split the tube in half down the axis, and use half as the piece to weld to your handle post (or telescoping tube). You could bolt it to the cross member without interefering with the windshield gasket. _________________ "It's not complicated, it's just expensive!"
