I recently called moon eyes in Santa Fe Springs where flat 4 was located to order a abarth style exhaust and they said flat 4 is no longer there. Does anyone know if they moved or are open anymore? Thanks.

California Import Parts at http://www2.cip1.com/default.asp is a Flat 4 distributor but I didn't see that they had the muffler. Could always go straight to Japan: http://www.flat4.co.jp/

Can you help me out and tell me who would have an Abarth style muffler in the U.S., rather than telling me not to buy some product.

I would definately go with Stephane. Wob Specialties I believe. That looks like a quality product.
As far as I know, you can't get the flat-4 anymore. When I was looking to purchase one a couple of years age, Bill Collins told me the flat-4 ones were pretty much junk. Yeah, what Bob said.

Bill is correct. They are total JUNK. If you buy anything from Flat 4 you have just wasted your money. You will be looking to replace it in a year anyway. It's a wonder they stay in business at all. Notice how most of their old distributers have dumped them. They would not support their products or deliver on their promises. The typical Japanese company trying to turn the fast profit. Save your money or pay a little more for a quality product with customer service. Wink

Stephane tells me he now has a distributor in Socal for his Stainless 4 tips. Didn't say who they were but I'll ask him this weekend.

The reason why Stephane's stainless exhaust were made was that the Flat 4 versions didn't fit.

What about their repro wheels, how is the fit/finish of the Sprintstar copies they make?

Sam

I will take the guess out of it for you. They look pretty good in my opinion. I bought a set because I did not want to shell out the big bucks for the old real ones, which can be hard to find. On my oval I am going to get the stock ones sandblasted and repainted, but they will be good on my 59. If you don't care what people say about the wheels you have on YOUR car, then it doesn't really matter if they are real or not. They seem sturdy and look like they will last. I will only know after riding them for awhile. I guess people on here might know more about this since they seem to have bought a lot of Flat4 stuff. At least it sounds that way from the way they are talking - like they have first-hand experience.

Pennywise, thanks for your opinion on them, it was much more useful than the previous caveman-like response. I really like the looks of them but the originals are hard to find and pricey. I hope they hold up for you. Are the rim/spokes polished or chrome? Clearcoated?

Thanks, Sam

Until you come back and bitch about the quality. Then you will be the one with the shitty opinion. Flat 4 stuff is junk.

I know of two cracked ones and one that cannot be balanced that you can get cheap Sam. We cavemen know the trails once in awhile. It is your money.......but I posted on the topic to help the less informed save some money. Flat 4 does not Xray their crap....they do not warranty their wheels and most speed shops will not mount them. Go to Drag Days and ask the pros. Nobody would ever race one. Is that too much information?

Actually that is still not enough information. As usual. Is what you said your personal experience? Or "someone you know"?

I know of hundreds of bad OG rims, so? Guess what? If my rims go bad I will complain, but I won't give advice on products I have not used or do not have empirical knowledge about. If you have used their products let us know which ones and what was wrong. Everyone seems to be saying "I know someone who knows someone..."

You are right to think that experience is a good teacher............intelligence is a better one. Ask around and make your own decisions. I don't buy fakes or reproductions especially any made with quality control like Flat 4's. If you can't afford the real thing........don't think that what you get is anywhere near it. You would think that I'm the ONLY one that has this opinion huh? Wrong again.......you're on a learning curve, but you better not just buy the product because you don't like my opinion of it. Contact West Coast Classics or BFY or Wolfsburg West or ISP. Ask the people who have sold it and won't make that mistake again. The Samba has many people who have experienced their products.......keep asking and then add up the responses and then make a decision. Just because I'm not telling what you want to hear doesn't make me wrong. I've been in this hobby longer than you have been on the planet..........do you think it's possible that I might have seen or heard or experienced issues with this company or do you think I just fell off the turnip truck, hit my head, and came up with this attiude? I don't have to PROVE anything to you and you don't have to pay any attention to me. A Neanderthal like me probably has forgot more that you know anyway. Wink
