We didn't feel like doing the traditional christmas this year, camping sounded like more fun. So we loaded up the Westy and took off for Caddo Lake SP on the TX, LA border. We had the whole park almost to ourselves. and of course Santa found us just like we told our 4 year old he would.
Santa managed to get everything up in the pop top without waking up young maxwell alseep behind the wavy blanket. If you do some planning you can fit some big stuff in that closet.
Christmas moring was no differant than any other christmas just couldn't let the waste paper get to out of hand.
a hose kit for the heater buddy was a small gift for dad, no more changing them 1lb cylinders! _________________ My Art:

Nice!
I have relatives that live in Uncertain, TX on Caddo lake, have never been to visit but would like to check it out.
How do you like the Hearter buddy, I think I may get one. _________________ Sean

Caddo Lake was one of the neatest places we've been to so far...your relatives are very lucky to live in such a cool place. (The wife couldn't stop talking about how cool the cypress swamp and the spanish moss were.)
We love the Heater Buddy for here in Texas, but it rerely gets below 30 at night. Someone mentioned that they tried to use it in colder weather without as much success. The addition of the hose was great. If it's not that cold where you camp, I'd recommend the heater, the special hose, and a large propane tank. _________________ My Art:

Cool pics and certainly a cool way to spend Christmas, Mightyart. You know, somebody restoring your Westy 30 years from now is going to say, "hmmmm, wonder how all these little dried Play-doh crumbs got into everything" |

Somehow, I suspect that will be a father-son project with MightyArt and MightyArt II |

Thankfully he didn't want to play with the playdoh till we got home, and if he did it would have been out on the campsite table. Luckly the only thing missing when we got home was a small Nerf dart.
Of course Santa came in the Westy trough the flue for the refrigerator.
We had tried to think of everything (like how santa got in) and we were blindsided by the comment "hey, the presents are all wrapped in the wrapping paper we have at home"
We quickly made some excuse and the unwrapping began.
We had a good time and I would highly recommend camping for x-mas _________________ My Art:

right on Mighty Art! Your family knows what's up! Christmas in the westy....which really is just another member of the family anyways right? Why should any of us be leaving our westy's alone on Christmas? Good for you! I just bought the little buddy heater recently and have used it in about -10 celsius weather and it is just bearable in my van in normal clothing....but I wish I had of purchased the larger mr. heater heater! |
