Av Pic

Howdy all. Happy New Year. I've sold my bus so I was trying to change my av pic. I get them down to the right size for the file is still too big; needs to be under 6 KB. Do you computer buffs know how to reduce the KB size and still have a pic large enought to see? For the av, they need to be less than 100 pix. THANKS!

I normally use the resize function in my software that came with my Dell. Nothing fancy.

Thanks. Yeah, I can resize it to und 100 pixels but the the file size is too big (over 6kb). I wonder if there's a way to redo it so there's less resolution, or something like that, so there's less file space used...

yep, had the same problem. Ended up having some wonderful Samba person here help me. If you figure it out please post so the rest of us can do it too. Wink

There's got to be a way to "dumb down" the pictures to fit. Reduce the resolution...whatever.

It depends what software you are using but a lot of times when you do "save as..." you can change ther JPG compression. Increasing the compression will reduce the quality and the file size.

don't know what you're using. I have several programs, the easiest is Microsoft Photosuite. There is a tab to the right that lets you compress the file.

Thanks. I've got Windows XP. I save it to My Pictures from my camera. To shrink it I open it in "Paint." there's probably a better way...

I use the windows paint program and under the IMAGE drop down menu I select the strech/skew choice the adjust the picture by % till it's 100x100.
Simple. Smile

Then save it as a .jpg file.
