90%? The drivers side looks like it still has the flashing seam from the mold halves.

Agreed! Although it is an abortion, I think the work done on this car looks very well executed and I think it would be a sweet ride! I'd roll it anyday.

South African bugs have elephant's feet on standard rear wings, with those pods as standard.

Some think that if your beetle has a padded dash, it's an engine donor. Some think that if it has push button door handles, it's a boat anchor.
Do what you want. Ignore the elitists. Drive your VW. Enjoy life.

That pillar looks scary. I wonder if the roof would collapse if you sat on it?

i wonder if that will actually make it out of the garage.

ha ha ha,

fuckin purist haters.

this is an example of some one who has balls and creativity, and you would be an example of some one who doesnt.

Anyone, and I mean any one, even a dumb ass monkey from the jungle can do a factory restoration. lets try something different and all of a sudden it aint going to work.

you will all be eating your words when its done though, I promise you that. As a matter of fact, you guy just keep giving me more of a reason to finish it, so keep it up. It gives me inspiration.

Was scrolling through 2K plus pages and was wondering if this project from 2007 on page 34 ever came to fruition.

This is why it's NOT an abortion.... it has a real chassis and not just sitting on a VW pan.

A custom super beetle with a split rear window and custom drivetrain is definitely an abortion worthy of this thread. Doesn't mean it ain't an excellent build.

Hey, that's not stock. Stock bugs don't have a VW badge on the engine cover. Wink
