90%? The drivers side looks like it still has the flashing seam from the mold halves. _________________ Everybody born before 1975 has a story, good, bad, or indifferent, about a VW.

Did they actually make extensions for the tail lights or is that stock over there? _________________ Everybody born before 1975 has a story, good, bad, or indifferent, about a VW.

Agreed! Although it is an abortion, I think the work done on this car looks very well executed and I think it would be a sweet ride! I'd roll it anyday. |

South African bugs have elephant's feet on standard rear wings, with those pods as standard. _________________

Some think that if your beetle has a padded dash, it's an engine donor. Some think that if it has push button door handles, it's a boat anchor.
Do what you want. Ignore the elitists. Drive your VW. Enjoy life. |

this is an example of some one who has balls and creativity, and you would be an example of some one who doesnt.
Anyone, and I mean any one, even a dumb ass monkey from the jungle can do a factory restoration. lets try something different and all of a sudden it aint going to work.
you will all be eating your words when its done though, I promise you that. As a matter of fact, you guy just keep giving me more of a reason to finish it, so keep it up. It gives me inspiration. |
Was scrolling through 2K plus pages and was wondering if this project from 2007 on page 34 ever came to fruition. _________________ What are the last 2 words of the National Anthem?

This is why it's NOT an abortion.... it has a real chassis and not just sitting on a VW pan.

A custom super beetle with a split rear window and custom drivetrain is definitely an abortion worthy of this thread. Doesn't mean it ain't an excellent build. _________________ nothing |

Hey, that's not stock. Stock bugs don't have a VW badge on the engine cover. _________________ “If you care for a thing long enough, it takes on a life of its own, doesn't it? Mending old things, preserving them, looking after them – on some level there's no rational grounds for it.”
