The baywindow rear bumper is a nice touch. _________________ -Thom

The bus seems really dry. Two camper windows in the usual places. The USS Enterprise seems to be mounted suspiciously close to where a hatch might have been at some point. For 12k it might be a deal.

Ive never seen a hatch in that location. _________________ Your Vanagon sucks, Stop waving at me.

Is this really a 1958 Kombi?
it appears to have later wheel wells in the rear...
Should be a long spoon latch on the pop out window- this latch appears to be from a later model bus...
Translator anyone...? |

Window latches & rear wheel wells come & go.
Lower valence looks pressed bumper.
Shifter is forward though?... and looks kinda like a Bay shifter (definitely not straight)
I can't make out the heater control / choke location. _________________ aka: Evan

Google translate says
restored worked some modifications engine 2.0 transmission 5 ribs front disc brakes all your windows safaris in front and back
The front cab looks really weird.
Shifter definitely looks forward but the floor look strange to me too.
The steering column angle looks strange too.
It does have a non-slider driver's seat so it could be early?
The mounting point I see on the driver's seat is not the regular one though but maybe they had to fix it at some point. _________________ How to Post Photos

If it is a 58 does it have the smoot back walk through bulkhead?
Vent window delete for hot weather?
This bus also has no lens on the bullet. Is that the new style?

I bet they knew Clara and i would bitch about inside door handles pointing the wrong way, so they cleverly left those off.
Seems like the owner of this kombi never saw a Bay they did not like.
looks like the drive train was borrowed from one? _________________ regards

I think the frustration that started this thread was those of us that loved VW before they were cool, classic and collectible. Heck, we used to find thermostat's for 2 bucks! |
I would agree. A lot of the fun is gone for me sadly. I would never sell one of the buses I have because I'm too cheap to buy another one for the cost it would take to replace it. lol
I get your point on the thermo's though. |

Not correct, but I do like the mouse grey/pearl white color scheme. |
Me too. It's my favorite combo and I'm going to paint my '65 pop top Westy that completely incorrect for a Westy combo....if I ever get around to restoring her. LOL. |

I like the quote at the bottom of the description: “don’t pay 6 figures for a bus no one has seen or heard of!” |

Pay 7! |
“Kelso touched the steering wheel!” 7 figures is a bargain. |

I always wonder how these "auctions" work when they say highest bidder but no clear indication of when the "auction" ends.... With no ending date posted how does he know he is getting the "highest offer"?! These people make this hobby lame sometimes haha |

He seems like a stand up guy, but amounts of “offers” screams “I want as much money as possible, and since some sucker may pay more than this is worth, I don’t want to put an actual price on it because I might miss out on a few bucks.” Bs. |
The phrasing of "Past Woman Owner" makes me wonder why he brings up someone's gender identity change. I don't see it as relevant to the ad. |
