Greg, if you don't mind me asking, what is the backstory to the tent you advertised?

I haven’t noticed any problems with using original Westy tents. I have set one up at almost every show I have attended for the last 20 years. They are my favorite vw bus accessory and are the reason I got interested in Westfalias. For a long time I tried to collect one in each color. The reproductions don’t even come close in quality or cool factor in my opinion.

I’ve been caught out a few times in the rain with them set up and I always set them up again to let them dry out instead of putting them away wet.

The yellow & grey tent I advertised for a minute did not sell. I probably would sell it if I could get a good price for it without a lot of hassle. I also have a red & white tent I want to sell. I forget the back story on the y/g tent, I believe I bought it at some point in the ‘90’ies when I was collecting these heavily. Real nice ones could be found complete for less than $1000 back then.

Hey Barry, we use ours all the time when we go camping. Can't imagine camping without it because space is pretty negligible in an early camper. This is at Carsbad State Beach.

Right hand drive tent to boot. Some bloke in the UK with his right hand drive Westy just unloaded on his screen. Very Happy

I thought it was a nickname for the people who bet at the prestigious tennis event.

The picture is distorted. I'm not not sure how that happened for him as his photos on his eBay auctions are normal.

It's weird he didn't say pickup only since it says that on eBay

Haha, I saw that too. It is not even welded to them frame; it is riveted.

Curious what is going rate for OG paint decklid prop rod?
See this ad: When it first popped up, it had no price listed but after emailing him he wanted $180 for it, which I thought was too much. Then just this morning I noticed he finally listed the price at $150.

I don't know but I can't imagine shelling 100 bucks for that part and I wanted to check in with you guys for opinion.

I'm looking for that L345 Decklid Prop (not that desperate tho).

I've seen decklid props from 20-60 bucks in varying conditions. $100 for being in NOS condition?

Based on the condition I would say that is a 35-40 dollar part

Yes, $100 should be super nice original condition, although I'm not sure if Light Grey is a harder to find color?

I went to look for comps and new whine, this prop looks mangled where it bolts to the decklid
https://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=1950958

Pretty sure you could hammer that part flat and straight again in 2 seconds though

I’d say that’s about fair or at least what guys are asking at swap meets. This guy originally listed it at “Offers.” Wtf does that even mean? Take that shit to the auction sites.
